Transformation MVB Sustainability Forum Promotes Low-Emission Mobility for a Sustainable Bali

Nusa Dua, Bali – October 22, 2025

The Transformation MVB Sustainability Forum, held at Merusaka Nusa Dua on October 22, 2025, brought together tourism executives, sustainability leaders, and government representatives to discuss Bali’s transition toward a cleaner, more sustainable future. Organized by MVB Sustainability Consultant, the forum aimed to raise awareness and foster collaboration on sustainability projects within the tourism sector—particularly the implementation of the Bali Low Emission Zone Initiative (BLEZI), an E-Mobility–based program.

Executives from various tourism-related organizations, including the Bali Villa Rental Management Association (BVRMA), attended the event, showing strong support for initiatives that align environmental responsibility with the island’s tourism-driven economy.

BLEZI serves as a pioneering effort to develop sustainable and resilient urban areas across Bali by focusing on emission reduction in the transportation subsector, advancing sustainable mobility, and creating inclusive, socio-economically fair urban spaces. The program reflects a long-term vision of ensuring that Bali’s growth remains environmentally conscious and socially equitable.

According to recent data, Bali’s air pollution index rose by an average of 2.24% per year between 2011 and 2019, primarily due to increasing emission levels. The transportation subsector remains the second-largest contributor to total emissions, accounting for 40.66% in 2024. These figures underline the urgency of adopting low-emission solutions to secure the island’s environmental and economic future.

Despite the clear need, the use of sustainable transport modes in Bali currently remains below 2% of total transportation. Experts warn that if this trend continues, emission levels could double by 2045, endangering public health, the tourism industry, and the overall well-being of the island’s residents and visitors alike.

To address these concerns, BLEZI has been introduced as a pilot project and research sandbox designed to strengthen Bali’s regulatory frameworks and action plans for sustainable mobility. The program emphasizes collaboration between the local community, academic institutions, and policymakers, ensuring that Bali’s sustainability journey is inclusive and data-driven.

“BLEZI represents a tangible step forward in Bali’s commitment to sustainability,” said a representative from MVB Sustainability Consultant during the forum. “By integrating e-mobility and low-emission strategies, we aim to build a future where tourism, environment, and community development go hand in hand.”The Transformation MVB Sustainability Forum concluded with a shared commitment to accelerating Bali’s progress toward achieving Zero Emissions by 2045. Through initiatives like BLEZI, Bali continues to position itself as a global model for sustainable tourism—where innovation, environmental stewardship, and cultural integrity coexist in harmony.
